New requirements, as well as the end of the maintenance period for the previous shop system forced August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG to re-develop the existing B2B online shop. The company, therefore, decided to implement SAP E-Commerce.

Under the brand PFERD, August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures tools for surface finishing and cutting materials. The company enabled its customers to order PFERD products easily and conveniently via the internet for many years using an SAP online store, based on a B2B online shop. However, new requirements and the long ended maintenance period required a new solution.

The tool manufacturer decided to implement SAP E-Commerce due to their positive experience with an SAP online store as well as the replacement product. The company hoped to gain further advantages now available from the sales partner scenario "business on behalf".

Their expectations have been met: irrespective of time differences, the shop is available round-the-clock to end customers, subsidiaries and sales partners. Users can obtain quotations online, check availability and place orders. Integration into SAP ERP enables the corresponding documents to be transferred directly to the ERP System. Thanks to the sales partner scenario, sales partners and subsidiaries can draw up quotations and orders in the name of end customers even without an SAP ERP connection. Receiving orders by fax and email and then entering them manually into the ERP system are a thing of the past.
