ARTE programme planning provides the information as to which programmes should be made available in the ARTE+7 media centre. The online editorial department prepares the pages and compiles the relevant teaser texts in two languages. The programmes are automatically recorded in Windows Media and Flash Video formats, released by Sybit's "Streaming Management System" in the CoreMedia CMS, and published via the streaming provider AKAMAI. Links to the ARTE Media Centre are automatically integrated in the ARTE portal. The software, realized by Sybit, also ensures that the videos are automatically deleted again by the system after broadcasting rights have expired (normally after 7 days). It is, therefore, possible for ARTE to operate the new service without any significant increase in editorial work.
